Brock Holt shades Taco Bell amid free taco World Series promotion
Customers will be treated to a free taco at Taco Bell as part of the fast food joint’s long-running “Steal A Base, Steal A Taco” promotion presently being held during the World Series. Just don’t expect Boston Red Sox utility man Brock Holt to take advantage of the giveaway.
Taco Bell devotees will have the opportunity to receive one free Doritos Locos taco on Nov. 1 thanks to Mookie Betts’ first-inning stolen base during Boston’s 8-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday night in Game 1 of the World Series.
Holt, however, revealed that he’ll be avoiding feasting on any Taco Bell after Boston’s win.
“I haven’t eaten Taco Bell in probably 10 years,” Holt said, via MassLive. “So yeah, I’ll probably stay away from the free taco. I’ll let everyone else get it.”
Holt added in a disturbingly colorful manner why Taco Bell won’t be on the menu for him anytime soon while explaining it would be a different story if MLB’s promotion involved free food at Chipotle.
“I would have to take my son there,” Holt said. “Because he loves Chipotle. He crushes it. So he’s 2-years-old and he eats a whole Chipotle bowl by himself. So I would have to give him my free Chipotle.
“But yeah, Taco Bell, I’m going to stay away from Taco Bell. You’ll end up on the toilet all night.”
Um, gross. While Holt’s take on Taco Bell may resonate with some people, there is no doubt that there will be countless fast food aficionados who will gladly line up at the Bell for some free taco goodness.
