Timberwolves to honor Prince, ‘Purple Rain’-themed City Edition unis leaked
The Minnesota Timberwolves will pay tribute to Minneapolis music icon Prince with Purple Rain-themed City Edition uniforms, if leaked images of the jersey and shorts are indeed legitimate.
Images of said aspects of the City Edition unis, which pay homage to the lettering style used on Prince and The Revolution’s groundbreaking 1984 smash album — which of course inspired the hit film — hit the Internet courtesy of two sources, as noted on Twitter by #RingerNBA.

Jon Krawcynzski, who covers the T-Wolves for The Athletic, also reported on the Purple Rain-themed uniforms.
Had heard that purple played a prominent role in the new City unis. Here they are, apparently. https://t.co/noD9xL4Ult

Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.net also has confirmed the City Edition unis are in fact the real deal according to his knowledge of the situation.
Prince, who passed away from an accidental overdose in 2016, was a prominent fan figure on the Minnesota sports scene and often frequented Target Center to catch T-Wolves games before his untimely death, something that prompted widespread tributes and memorials among the local sports teams.
