Watch: Red Sox sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Alex Cora after series-clinching win

The Boston Red Sox clubhouse not surprisingly was in an incredibly festive mood following Thursday’s 4-1 victory over the Houston Astros that punched the team’s ticket to the World Series. For Red Sox skipper Alex Cora, the ALCS-clinching win was arguably the icing on the proverbial cake, as Thursday also marked his 43rd birthday.

As the team basked in the afterglow of the 4-1 victory in Game 5, the Red Sox made sure to take a moment to sing “Happy Birthday” to the team’s first-year manager.

It may have taken longer than he may have hoped, but after a slight delay amid all the revelry and popping of champagne bottles, Cora finally met up with fiancée, Angelica, and their twins, Xander and Isander, on the Minute Maid Park field.

A happy birthday, indeed.
