Charles Barkley: Only natural disasters, ‘Chernobyl,’ can stop Warriors from three-peat
Charles Barkley cracked wise Tuesday night during a “Game Break” segment on NBA on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” joking that not even a natural disaster or even a nuclear accident would be able to prevent the Golden State Warriors from winning another NBA title at season’s end.
With the Warriors set to receive their championship rings later in the night ahead of a showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Ernie Johnson polled Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith on what could stop the loaded Warriors from winning three straight NBA titles and four in five years.

“Hurricanes, tornadoes, snow storms, man made … something man made, Chernobyl,” Barkley said, via Dime Magazine, ahead of the Warriors’ 108-100 win over the Russell Westbrook-less Thunder.
Sir Charles has certainly changed his tune over the years when it comes to the Warriors, and rightfully so. Which leads to a valuable lesson: Perhaps only the Warriors can get the stubborn Barkley to admit when he’s wrong.
Actually, it merits noting that just in last year’s postseason, Barkley made a bold statement about the Warriors’ dominance that ultimately was proven slightly less than accurate.
That said, when it comes to the Warriors, even a contrarian like Barkley can see the writing on the wall.
