NY tabloids trash Aaron Boone, Yankees after humiliating Game 3 loss
The Big Apple tabloids pulled no punches with their front- and back-page coverage of the New York Yankees’ humiliating 16-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of the teams’ ALDS on Monday night.
Yankees skipper Aaron Boone drew much of the ire on the covers with the tabloids targeting him — and his questionable managerial moves during the brutal loss — with pun-tastic putdowns, as the papers in question are wont to do.

It’s no surprise the New York tabloids so viciously trashed the Yankees, as it is commonplace for the papers to do so whenever a local team lays an embarrassing egg. And it goes without saying the Bronx Bombers, under Boone’s leadership, certainly did just that at Yankee Stadium on Monday night.
The Yankees, down 2-1 in the series, will attempt to save their season by staving off elimination in Game 4 in the Bronx on Tuesday night.
