LeBron James’ two-week cleanse sans wine made him ‘want wine more’
LeBron James has cultivated a reputation as a knowledgable and devoted oenophile, a connoisseur and lover of wine, in layman’s terms. Imagine how difficult it must have been for the Los Angeles Lakers star during his recent two-week cleanse, during which imbibing upon wine was strictly forbidden?
Let LeBron explain it himself.
“Yeah,” James said with a laugh, via The Los Angeles Times. “It made me want wine more.”
James also avoided gluten, dairy, added and artificial sugars and all other alcohols as well during the 14-day cleanse. When asked what was available to him during the grueling two weeks, James could not help but make a joke.
“In life?” James asked. “Air.”
James finally was able to satiate his desire for some vino on Wednesday night, evidence of which he shared on social media.

Good to be back, indeed.
What made James’ disciplined cleanse so challenging was the presence of his children, who of course were not about to change anything about their dietary routines to give their dad a break.
“That’s the discipline you gotta have when you got three kids running around the house and they’re making sprinkled chocolate chip pancakes at 11 o’clock at night, you have to be very, very disciplined to not even indulge,” James said. “We have a dessert tray up there and then we have apples and pears.”
Well, now that LeBron is back on the horse, as it were, on the wine front, there is pretty much only one thing left to add: Salute, King James.
