Tyreek Hill on Jalen Ramsey ahead of showdown: ‘He’s all right, I guess’
Superstar wideout Tyreek Hill cannot wait for Sunday’s Week 5 showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars as it will pit him against one of the best — and most outspoken — cornerbacks in the NFL, Jalen Ramsey.
“I’m always up for a challenge,” Hill said of Ramsey, via ESPN. “The best always go against the best.”
While Hill did give credit where credit is due, subsequent comments on the anticipated matchup with Ramsey show the Kansas City Chiefs superstar can dish it out as well as Ramsey.
“He think high of himself,” Hill said. “He’s all right, I guess. I can’t wait to line up against him. I hope he presses me.”
Ramsey of course made headlines during training camp by going scorched earth on a large number of NFL signal-callers in a GQ interview. Hill presumably knows all about Ramsey’s trash talk, so there’s a good chance the tone of his rhetoric is intentional.
In fact, there seems to be even more at play with how the complimentary Hill is eager for the epic heavyweight showdown with Ramsey.
“He’s a great player. To get my name out there more, I need to go up against more talent like him. I’m not calling [Denver’s] Chris Harris or nobody else bad, but he’s top dog right now so I can’t wait.”
Regardless of who comes out of Sunday’s game with bragging rights, something will have to give, when the Chiefs (4-0) and Jaguars (3-1) take the field at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City boasts the NFL’s highest scoring offense and Jacksonville enters Week 5 with the league’s stingiest defense when it comes to points allowed.
That said, the game is days away, which leaves plenty of time for Ramsey to react to Hill’s comments. There is no doubt whatsoever Ramsey will find it impossible to not say something.
