Report: Michael Jordan’s ‘Space Jam 2’ involvement ‘to be determined’
The big news out of Hollywood this week is that the long-awaited “Space Jam 2” — featuring LeBron James as star and executive producer — is finally in the works.

Subsequent reporting suggests the star of the original “Space Jam,” Michael Jordan, conceivably could have some level of involvement in “Space Jam 2” as well.
Although the extent of how much a role MJ would play in the film, if any, is still “to be determined,” per a tweet from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
Space Jam 2, while a part of the Space Jam franchise, is not considered a sequel, a source familiar with the production told ESPN. However, there have been discussions in involving Michael Jordan in some way. At this point, Jordan’s level of involvement is to be determined.

The notion of Jordan taking part in “Space Jam 2” was addressed recently by Maverick Carter, James’ longtime business associate and partner in SpringHill Entertainment production company.
“Hopefully there will be a role for Michael if he wants it. But Michael Jordan is Michael (expletive) Jordan,” Carter said this week, via Cinema Blend. “It doesn’t matter [if James] calls him, he’s gonna do whatever the hell he wants, which he has earned that right to do. LeBron and Michael are not sitting around talking about ‘Space Jam.'”
We do know that James not surprisingly is pretty pumped about getting the ball rolling on “Space Jam 2.” It would be interesting to learn how LeBron would feel about His Airness coming aboard for the project in some capacity.
