Yasiel Puig burglarized for the fourth time in past year-and-a-half
Yasiel Puig’s home in the San Fernando Valley was burglarized on Tuesday evening, reports TMZ Sports. The crime occurred while Puig was at the ballpark for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 3-2 win over the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium.
The incident now makes it four times that the Dodgers slugger has been subjected to such a crime since spring training in 2017.
Law enforcement sources tell us cops were called to Puig’s San Fernando Valley home Tuesday night around 8 PM after one of the Dodger’s assistants got a security alert on his phone, which showed 3 men leaving Puig’s property.
Yasiel has a security camera set up that captures motion, and it automatically sends the video to a cell phone programmed to receive it. When Yasiel’s associate saw the footage, he immediately called police … but the bad guys had already fled.
TMZ Sports’ sources add the men gained entry to Puig’s home by smashing open the back door. The most recent reporting on the burglary does not indicate whether the crooks made off with any of Puig’s belongings before fleeing the scene.
As noted, the first burglary at Puig’s home occurred last year during spring training when an estimated $170,000 worth of jewelry was taken. Then, Puig was victimized by burglars as the Dodgers were losing in Game 7 of the World Series last fall. The third such incident occurred just last month.
It’s unclear at this time whether or not the burglaries are related and/or perpetrated by the same criminals, TMZ Sports notes.
