Watch: Patriots release Tom Brady-Josh Gordon hype video

The New England Patriots reportedly are putting the finishing touches on a trade with the Cleveland Browns for standout wide receiver Josh Gordon. Interestingly, the social media arm of the Patriots has already released a hype video celebrating the acquisition, even though it has not yet been made official.

In the video, Tom Brady is showing completing a bomb for a touchdown to Gordon. But with the obvious absence of any such footage, the video features a mashup of Brady tossing a deep ball and Gordon coming down with a long pass in a Browns uniform.

The message “Coming soon?” is paired with the hype video.

What makes the timing of the hype video somewhat peculiar is how Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has expressed no inclination to discuss the Gordon trade until it has been officially finalized.

“We’re at the same place with him that we were yesterday, so we’re in the process of working through it,” Belichick said Tuesday during a conference call, via CBS Boston. “We’ll just have to see how it goes.”

Belichick of course runs the Patriots with the proverbial iron fist, so it’s interesting that the Instagram post was issued in the first place.

That said, Tom Brady was more than happy to discuss the Gordon acquisition during an interview on Monday night, so there’s that as well.
