Report: Marcus Peters fined $13,000 for crude touchdown celebration
Marcus Peters reportedly has been fined $13,000 by the NFL for his crude touchdown celebration Monday night during the Los Angeles Rams’ 33-13 Week 1 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
Peters intercepted a Derek Carr pass and returned it 49 yards for a pick-six in the fourth quarter to effectively ice the game. The Rams corner grabbed his groin as he strolled into the end zone.

The gesture was said by Peters to be an homage to Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch, who was similarly fined by the NFL a few years back for the same kind of celebration. In fact, Peters and Lynch both hail from Oakland and remain close friends.
Interestingly, Peters fired off a tweet this week amid the backlash to his celebration. The tweet featured a GIF of Peters shrugging while sporting a “BEASTMODE” shirt.

While the tweet may have been well-played, it sounds like Peters will be a bit lighter in the wallet over the antics that inspired it.
