Jerry Jones ‘didn’t talk about football’ with Dez Bryant at Jay-Z/Beyonce concert
Jerry Jones and Dez Bryant made for an intriguing pairing while taking in the Jay-Z/Beyoncé concert together earlier this week at AT&T Stadium. Amid a smattering of speculation that the meet-up between the Dallas Cowboys owner and free agent wide receiver could spell a potential reunion, Jones hinted that would not be the case.
“We didn’t talk about football,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM], as transcribed by SportsDay. “With Dez, that’s not uncommon. I would say that a nice percentage of our conversations over the years, football didn’t come up. We had other things to talk about.”
Bryant of course remains without a team — although reports have suggested there was an offer on the table earlier this offseason from the Baltimore Ravens. The Cleveland Browns also flirted with the possibility of signing Bryant, although nothing came to fruition on that front, either.
The onetime Cowboys star is said to be interested in signing with the Patriots. In fact, it has been mentioned that it’s only a matter of time before Bryant joins the Pats. The source? Bryant himself, apparently.
Dez and Jerry were hanging out but a source tells me he was letting other people at the concert know he’s probably going to New England. #Cowboys #Patriots #Dez https://t.co/Sj2jLCKbXk

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are struggling mightily on offense in the absence of Bryant, as well as the retired Jason Witten. But to hear it from Jones, the possibility of a Bryant return to Big D is not happening. At least it evidently was not discussed at the big concert.
“Boy was that a production,” Jones said of the “outstanding” concert at Jerry World. “They do it right. Not only great entertainers, they are just very proficient.”
Perhaps Jones should bring in the two superstars as consultants to teach the Cowboys’ offense about proficiency.
