Donald Trump praises Tiger Woods for ‘respect the office’ comments
Donald Trump on Monday morning tweeted out praise to Tiger Woods after the golfer’s comments Sunday regarding how people ought to “respect the office” of the presidency despite the existence of any potential political differences.
Trump’s tweet heralded the stance despite the “Fake News Media” trying to elicit criticism while also pointing out how Woods is playing great golf of late.
The Fake News Media worked hard to get Tiger Woods to say something that he didn’t want to say. Tiger wouldn’t play the game – he is very smart. More importantly, he is playing great golf again!

Woods was asked about Trump following his round Sunday at The Northern Trust. The golfer has known Trump for years and has played golf with him on occasion.
Woods attempted to remain above the fray in his response to a question about his collegial relationship with Trump.
“He’s the President of the United States. You have to respect the office,” Woods said. “No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office.”
Woods has played golf with former presidents Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Barack Obama as well, as noted in a Golfweek report. Woods highlighted that component of his relationship with Trump.
“We’ve played golf together. We’ve had dinner together,” Woods said of Trump. “I’ve known him pre-presidency and obviously during his presidency.”
Trump of course has become a polarizing presence in the world of sports during his presidency, and his critical comments about social activism, anthem protests and the like have fostered an antagonistic environment involving himself and many professional athletes.
It appears that Woods has no interest in getting bogged down in political partisanship. Although it merits noting that Woods did not give Trump any kind of definitive endorsement, either.
