Clippers’ Patrick Beverley: ‘We are the best team in L.A. for sure’

LeBron who?

That’s presumably the point Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley was attempting to convey when arguing the Los Angeles Lakers are not the best team in the City of Angels.

The arrival of the aforementioned LeBron James, along with veterans Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee joining a squad headlined by Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball, among others, has without question dramatically remade the Lakers. Beverley nevertheless insists the Clippers are the top squad in L.A.

“I am just fortunate to be at such a great ball club with a great coaching staff, great management, a great owner, great teammates to be able to perform for you guys every single night,” Beverley said, via ClutchPoints. We are the best team in L.A. I know Lawrence Frank didn’t give you guys exactly what you wanted to hear but I’ll tell y’all right now, we are the best team in L.A. for sure.

“We are going to give our best effort every night and we are making the playoffs. The makeup of our team, the depth of our team, we are fortunate to be playing for a great city like L.A.”

Somewhere, Ice Cube is probably left speechless, given his opinion of the Clippers.

Interestingly, Beverley is not the only Clipper to throw shade at the Lakers since LeBron’s arrival, as Lou Williams previously touted his team’s superiority as well.

That said, there’s no question the Lakers, at least on paper, are the far superior squad when it comes to bragging rights in the L.A. market. The case can be made the only people who may disagree primarily come from within the Clippers’ own locker room.
