Le’Veon Bell reacts to Jalen Ramsey trashing Ben Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell has found himself on the defensive after reacting to critical comments from Jacksonsville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey about teammate Ben Roethlisberger.

Ramsey of course went scorched earth on a majority of NFL quarterbacks during a recent GQ interview. Among the quarterbacks who the outspoken Jags corner called out was Roethlisberger.

“Big Ben [Roethlisberger], I think he’s decent at best… It’s not Big Ben, it’s [Antonio Brown]. Big Ben slings the ball a lot of the time,” Ramsey said in the interview published Wednesday. “He just slings it, and his receivers go get it. He has a strong arm, but he ain’t all that. I played him twice last year, and he really disappointed me. He’ll be in the Hall of Fame and all that.”

Bell, currently away from the Steelers for the second year in a row amid a contract dispute, reacted early Thursday morning on Twitter to Ramsey’s incendiary comments. In his first tweet, Bell took note of a discussion on FOX Sports 1’s “Undisputed” about the firestorm.

Bell next highlighted a tweet that pointed out one of the QBs Ramsey disparaged was none other than Big Ben, who interestingly just downplayed Bell’s absence from camp. Bell suggested Ramsey was entitled to his opinion.

Later, Bell applauded a tweet from a fan in which it’s stated that people are trying to twist his words into criticism of his teammate.

Bell is absolutely right that Ramsey is entitled to his opinion, including one that disparages one of his teammates. But by simply stating as much does not mean Bell agrees or endorses Ramsey’s take on Roethlisberger.
