Jeanie Buss: Kobe Bryant backers upset over LeBron James ‘not Laker fans’

Jeanie Buss cannot understand why any Los Angeles Lakers fan — even a Kobe Bryant loyalist — could find fault with LeBron James joining the iconic organization.

That said, the Lakers co-owner and CEO doesn’t believe fans critical of the move, much less those who vandalized James murals that popped up throughout L.A. upon his signing, are real Lakers backers anyway, something she has pointed out beforehand.

Buss joined “The Dan Patrick Show” on Wednesday and called out the LeBron haters among the Lakers faithful.

Buss has always been extremely loyal to Kobe, calling him “an inspiration” to her on Patrick’s show. Although that’s nothing new for her. After all, right after James joined the Lakers, Buss stressed that “no one will ever touch Kobe’s legacy” with the organization, not even LeBron.

Buss also praised the Lakers front office, specifically Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka.

And now? It’s time for the Lakers to return to glory days of championships and hanging banners in the rafters, says Buss.

Buss clearly is feeling pretty good about the state of the Lakers, and for good reason. Having LeBron on your team can do that. And those Kobe diehards who want to hop off the bandwagon? More room for new converts.
