Watch: Carlos Correa foul ball snagged by fiancee Daniella Rodriguez
Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa is currently on a rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks, working his way back into form after dealing with a back injury. Correa’s fiancée, Daniella Rodriguez, is down in the minors with him and was in the ballpark on Wednesday night to lend him some support.
Rodriguez, seated in a luxury box along the first baseline, could not have picked a more prime location at Whataburger Field for what occurred during the fourth inning.
Correa fought off a pitch during his at-bat, sending the ball into foul territory. After the ball caromed off a railing, it landed right in the lap of Rodriguez.

What are the odds? And it goes without saying Rodriguez was pretty excited over the chance occurrence.

Rodriguez presumably is joking about it being one of the greatest moments of her life. After all, it wasn’t even one of the best moments of her life in a ballpark. Recall how Correa proposed to her on the field right after the Astros won the World Series last year.

Back to the events of Wednesday night. Correa commented upon the randomness of it all while joking like it was not all that random.
“Haha, I was totally trying to hit it to her,” Correa told MiLB.com in a direct message on Twitter. “Nah, I couldn’t believe it when the guys told me! It was a cool moment for her, she was super excited!”
