Report: Lakers-Warriors showdown highlights NBA’s Christmas Day slate
It should not come as much of a surprise all things considered, but The New York Times’ Marc Stein is reporting that the Los Angeles Lakers — with LeBron James in tow, of course — will hit the road to take on the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day.
A vintage dose of Celtics/Sixers, Giannis and the Bucks at MSG against the Knicks and (you guessed it) LeBron's Lakers in Oakland to face the Warriors are the highlights of the NBA's Christmas Day schedule that will be announced Wednesday afternoon, league sources tell @NYTSports

It merits noting that James is no fan of playing on Christmas due to how it keeps him away from family on such an important day. That said, the NBA obviously is reluctant to not feature James on the Christmas day slate.
After all, the league often enjoys complete dominance of the sports landscape on Dec. 25. To not showcase the league’s best player on such a day would be downright foolish, which the NBA of course never fails to do.
James and his former Cleveland Cavaliers squad of course faced off against the Warriors for three straight years, including last season. Now with James in one of the biggest television markets in the country, the NBA obviously had no choice but make a Lakers-Warriors showdown the highlight of its Christmas Day spectacle during the 2018-19 season.
