Phillies fans troll the locals with ‘E-A-G-L-E-S’ chant at Fenway Park (vid)
Philadelphia Phillies fans on Monday infiltrated enemy territory at Fenway Park and had some fun at the locals’ expense by trolling them over the outcome of Super Bowl LII.
The Phillies fans appeared inclined to remind Bostonians that the Eagles edged the hometown Patriots in a 41-33 upset back in February. While the Philllies and Red Sox battled it out in the ballpark, Philly fans broke out into an impromptu “E-A-G-L-E-S” chant, much to presumed chagrin of the Fenway faithful.
Listen carefully and you’ll hear an E-A-G-L-E-S chant met with boos at Fenway Park.

No word on if the chant inspired any ugliness in the stands, but the Phillies fans’ antics were simply an exhibition of some lighthearted ribbing. Given all the titles Boston fans have been able to enjoy over the years — particularly by the Patriots — hopefully those in attendance at Monday’s game took the group-taunt with a grain of salt and had a good laugh over the trolling.
