Jimmy Butler spends time with ailing teen for ESPN’s ‘My Wish’ series
Jimmy Butler reportedly is dealing with some drama involving his purportedly troubled relationship with some Minnesota Timberwolves teammates, but that did not stop the superstar from brightening the day of an ailing teenage fan as part of ESPN’s popular “My Wish” series.
Ethan Whitney, 16, currently is battling B-cell Lymphoma. Whitney, of Hortonville, Wis., tabs Butler at his favorite player, mostly due to the star’s time with the Chicago Bulls. Whitney got to shoot some hoops, play paintball and dominoes with his NBA idol during the time the two spent together.
Butler, a huge country music fan, even sang “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” with Whitney, a scene featured in an Instagram post from the T-Wolves star.
Butler’s involvement with the “My Wish” series will air on “SportsCenter” Tuesday evening. A teaser video has been released.
“I never thought in all my life that I’d be shooting baskets in L.A. with Jimmy Butler,” Whitney said.
