Bryce Harper’s HR Derby win yields $1 tickets for Nationals fans

Bryce Harper put on quite a show for the home fans in D.C. by winning the Home Run Derby on Monday night at Nationals Park in thrilling fashion.

Ahead of Harper’s power display, the Nationals announced a promotion where select tickets potentially would see significant discounts in relation how well the slugger performed.

When it was all said and done with Harper holding the hardware after hitting a total of 45 homers, certain lower-level seats for five upcoming Nationals home games saw a dramatic price reduction, bottoming out at only $1 apiece.

Before the contest, the Nationals sent out an email to their mailing list promising to reduce ticket prices of lower-level seats by $1 for every home run Harper hit, down to as low as $1, via ESPN.

… With lower-level tickets in two sections starting at less than that amount, it means tickets for those seats to five games will sell for a dollar while supply lasts, as long as fans use one of the two discount codes sent out by the team.

And the ticket supply did not last long, either, for the Harper Home Run Flash Sale. As noted by The Washington Times, it only took Nationals fan mere hours to snatch up the available $1 tickets for games against the New York Mets on July 31 and Aug. 1 and three games on Aug. 2, 4 and 5 against the Cincinnati Reds.

Harper’s future with the Nationals remains uncertain at best with the superstar slated to hit free agency after the 2018 season. That said, Harper certainly provided Nationals fans with a great performance Monday night and gave them an opportunity to score some incredibly cheap tickets.
