Report: Airport employee arrested after scuffle with Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones
Adam “Pacman” Jones has been involved in several off-the-field incidents that have proved detrimental to his reputation and career. The free agent cornerback found himself in another troubling situation this week, but this time it appears he was the victim.
Jones on Tuesday evening was involved in a “violent altercation” with an employee after landing at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, according to a TMZ Sports report.
When it was all said and done, the employee, identified as ABM staffer Frank Ragin, was taken into custody by police and charged with two counts of battery.
The incident allegedly started when Ragin “made a gesture towards” Jones, according to police. Jones then confronted Ragin.
“Mr. Ragin eventually struck Mr. Jones with a closed fist,” cops say … “causing a laceration to Mr. Jones’ face.”
“Mr. Jones then started to defend himself, causing Mr. Ragin to fall to the ground.”
Jones’ female companion also suffered a hand injury during the skirmish when she was hit by Ragin. Both Jones and the unidentified woman declined treatment. Ragin, however, was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Jones currently is a free agent after the Cincinnati Bengals declined the option in his contract in March. After debuting with the Tennessee Titans in 2005, Jones’ NFL career included a stop with the Dallas Cowboys in 2008 and had played for the Bengals since the 2010 season.
