Timberwolves troll LeBron James over press release about joining Lakers
LeBron James quietly revealed on Sunday that he would be joining the Los Angeles Lakers with what can only be referred to as an extremely understated press release. And the low-key approach from James and his representation was too tempting for the Minnesota Timberwolves, as the team brilliantly trolled the move with a press release of their own.
James’ announcement he would once again be leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers certainly lacked the pomp and circumstance and eloquence of James’ announcement he would return to Cleveland in 2014. And when compared to “The Decision,” where James declared he would be taking his talents to South Beach, the press release put out by Klutch Sports Group obviously lacked the pompousness and self-serving nature of that ESPN-aired debacle.

And with the above release serving as a relatively benign template, here’s how the Timberwolves announced on Tuesday night that the organization had signed first-round draft pick Josh Okogie to a rookie contract.

“The Office binge walker and all around good guy.” Fantastic.
It’s nice to see the T’Wolves — at least those behind the team’s social media accounts — can retain such a whimsical sense of humor despite some concerning goings-on within the organization involving one of its superstars.
