Antonio Brown raves about Le’Veon Bell, says ‘let’s get this ring’ (vid)

Le’Veon Bell was conspicuously absent during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offseason program for the second year in a row in his quest to land a long-term contract. Bell’s Steelers teammates have taken his holdout in stride for the most part although it’s plain they would prefer him to be on the practice field with them.

That said, Antonio Brown absolutely raved about Bell earlier this week regarding the running back’s character, physical fitness and undeniable impact upon the team.

Brown issued his passionate endorsement of Bell following the NFL Network’s big reveal of the final names on its Top 100 Players of 2018 list, on which Brown came in at No. 2 and Bell landed at No. 5.

Brown posted a video to Instagram in which he hails Bell as an “ultimate competitor,” among other platitudes. Not only that, Brown added “let’s get this ring” while tagging Bell in the comment.

JUUUIIICCEEEEE let’s get this ring @leveonbell

High praise, indeed.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Brown has spoken extensively about Bell, although the last time his comments arguably were not as flattering.

Absent Bell and the Steelers hammer out a long-term contract by the July 16 deadline, the expectation is Bell once again will play in 2018 under a franchise-tag tender that will pay him $14.544 million in 2018.

The 26-year-old all-purpose back, playing on the franchise tag for $12.12 million, enjoyed a solid 2017 campaign despite his late arrival, finishing with 1,291 rushing yards, good for third in the NFL, along with nine touchdowns on the ground. Bell added 85 receptions for 655 yards and two touchdowns as well in the passing game.

Bell continues to express confidence that the long-term deal he has long coveted can be reached. However, if that’s not the case, expect Bell to miss training camp as well again this year, despite the high praise from Brown.
