Stefon Diggs on Kirk Cousins: ‘Everybody loves being around him’
Kirk Cousins appears to have made a great first impression on his Minnesota Vikings teammates, as wide receiver Stefon Diggs recently raved about the likeable qualities possessed by the new quarterback.
“He’s a likable guy,” said Diggs of Cousins during an appearance this week on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” via Vikings.com. “Everybody loves being around him. I love catching passes from him. I love playing for the guy. As far as his approach for the game, he’s teaching me some stuff.”
Diggs became an icon in Vikings lore thanks to his clutch play in the NFL divisional round win over the New Orleans Saints famously dubbed as the “Minneapolis Miracle.” He addressed the unbelievable play during his appearance as well.
“It was moment that I couldn’t even describe,” Diggs said. “For the people that were there, everybody felt it.”

Circling back around to Cousins, the 29-year-old signal-caller experienced a whirlwind offseason after signing fully guaranteed three-year contract worth $84 million as he sought to familiarize himself with his new team and new offense. He said last week he intends to decompress a bit during the summer break but remain focused on mastering the Vikings’ playbook.
Cousins previously expressed an eagerness to take ownership of a leadership role with the Vikings but intends to let in happen organically. Perhaps just as encouraging is how Cousins’ patented enthusiasm has also been on full display as well.
And with Cousins in the fold, the Vikings have been tabbed as a top Super Bowl contender. Diggs says good coaching, led by Mike Zimmer, keeps the team focused and not looking too far ahead.
“As a team we look forward to each and every day,” Diggs said. “We are just a great-coached team, and we try not to jump the gun.”
