Report: Kawhi Leonard ‘adamant’ about never being in Spurs’ locker room again

The Kawhi Leonard saga as it pertains to his uncertain future with the San Antonio Spurs has had no shortage of twists and turns in recent weeks, not to mention months. And now, ESPN international announcer Alvaro Martin is reporting via Twitter that Leonard is “adamant” about never setting foot in the Spurs’ locker room ever again.

Meanwhile, Martin suggests that the Spurs are “adamant” about not having their hand forced in any situation involving Leonard.

There’s certainly a lot to unpack here, but the narrative certainly follows what’s been generally accepted about the Leonard-Spurs story line. A report from Adrian Wojnarowski, Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne published Wednesday on ESPN.com does a quality job of attempting to present a comprehensive breakdown of the ongoing developments, especially as it relates to Leonard and the Los Angeles Lakers.

When there’s uncertainty surrounding the future of a player the caliber of Leonard, incessant speculation, rampant rumors and endless conjecture are the norm (as illustrated as well by the current LeBron James drama).

That said, all signs seem to point at Leonard’s time in San Antonio coming to an end, despite the fact the Spurs can offer the disgruntled superstar a five-year, $219 million super-max contract. Whatever happened between Leonard and the Spurs obviously soured the superstar greatly on the organization.

The fact that each and every day — and usually more often than that — another report surfaces regarding a new development on the Leonard front certainly shows that the NBA offseason boasts just as much action as when there’s actual basketball being played.
