Promo released for Browns’ upcoming appearance on ‘Hard Knocks’ (vid)

HBO on Thursday released a promo video touting the Cleveland Browns’ upcoming appearance on the new season of “Hard Knocks.”

The full title of this season’s edition of the popular documentary-style series is “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cleveland Browns.”

Here’s the teaser video.

The Browns have no shortage of intriguing story lines, highlighted by the drafting of enigmatic quarterback Baker Mayfield with the top pick in the draft, among other compelling angles.

Head coach Hue Jackson, GM John Dorsey along with players Christian Kirksey, Jarvis Landry and Jabrill Peppers talk about the Cleveland Browns being chosen for Hard Knocks and what to expect this season,” the YouTube description reads. Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cleveland Browns premieres Aug. 7.

Interestingly, Browns general manager John Dorsey railed against the likelihood that the team — long believed to be the favorites of “Hard Knocks” producers — were set to be selected for the series. However, once it was made official, Dorsey quickly changed his tune, at least publicly.

The series will span five episodes. Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot reports NFL Films crews were present last week when Browns head coach Hue Jackson made his promised leap into Lake Erie and have been filming the team’s OTAs.
