Padres fan catches ball in cup, proceeds to chug her beer (vid)
A San Diego Padres fan put on a how in the Petco Park stand by chugging her beer after using her cup as an improvised glove of sorts during Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
The entertaining scene occurred during the top of the fifth inning when Gabby DiMarco, seated in the upper deck behind home plate, snagged a foul ball off the bat of Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte. Making the grab even more impressive? DiMarco was holding her phone in her other hand. Impressive.

“It bounced from behind me, I was trying to catch it all, and it landed in my cup,” DiMarco told MLB.com. Everyone around her encouraged her to drain the beer, but do you really need to be told to do that?
DiMarco’s clutch cup grab of course is not the first time a fan has made an impressive play in the stands while holding a concession item. Although sometimes efforts to snag a souvenir baseball doesn’t work out and have unfortunate consequences.
And hey, at least DiMarco provided some small reason to cheer during Tuesday’s game — at least in the seats — as on the field the Padres were throttled by the Braves, losing by a score of 14-1 in a blowout loss. That’s something.
