The Washington Capitals put on a show for their fans on Monday night in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, throttling the Vegas Golden Knights by a score of 6-2 at Verizon Center to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.

The Capitals enjoyed some big-name fan support as well during Monday’s win, as Washington Nationals stars Max Scherzer and Ryan Zimmerman were in attendance to cheer on the squad.

It’s hardly surprising that Scherzer and Zimmerman are pulling for a fellow D.C.-based team. However, the fact that Nats teammate Bryce Harper, on the other hand, is cheering for his hometown Golden Knights, which is understandable but nevertheless makes things somewhat awkward for the Nationals superstar slugger.

Harper even showed up to Verizon Center Monday night regaled in Golden Knights gear.

As the game got out of hand in the Capitals’ favor, the juxtaposition between how Harper was feeling about the action on the ice compared to his two teammates was certainly interesting.

Harper of course has every right to cheer on the Golden Knights being a Las Vegas native. Still, there’s a good chance Scherzer and Zimmerman have some good-natured taunting planned for their disappointed teammate when all three are back at the ballpark.
