LiAngelo Ball has workouts planned with three teams, including Lakers
LiAngelo Ball has set his sights on the NBA and currently is involved in the pre-2018 Draft process. The 19-year-old is fresh off a much ballyhooed foray — thanks to father LaVar — into pro ball with Vytautas Prienai–Birštonas of the Lithuanian Basketball League.
With that all said and done, the middle Ball son has now revealed he has three private workouts planned with NBA teams after meeting with the two others at the NBA scouting combine, according to HoopsHype’s Alex Kennedy.
.@LiAngeloBall says he interviewed with the Thunder and Suns yesterday at the @ProBBallCombine. After this event ends, he has private workouts scheduled with the Lakers, Clippers and Warriors.

The case could be made the Lakers, among other teams, simply are inviting trouble, not to mention distraction, by working out LiAngelo Ball, as with him comes the overbearing, outspoken presence of the elder Ball. This notion is even more amplified given LiAngelo Ball is unlikely to even be selected in the 2018 NBA Draft, as illustrated by how one pundit ranks him outside the top 100 prospects.
That said, perhaps the Lakers realize LaVar Ball is already going to be around anyway, so what’s the difference?
Not so fast. Lakers reporter Bill Oram suggests pumping the brakes on any possibility of the Lakers drafting LiAngelo.
Everyone I’ve spoken to has indicated the Lakers will give LiAngelo a workout. Concerned about further fulfilling the Prophecy of LaVar? Drafting him would be another matter entirely. https://t.co/wqbji5aT7X

Still, five teams allegedly are interested in either speaking with or working out LiAngelo Ball, despite his less-than-stellar prospects of even being drafted. Let that soak in for a moment. Perhaps the Big Baller Brand hype machine still can yield results, after all.
