Carrie Underwood trolls hubby Mike Fisher over shaving playoff beard (vid)

The Nashville Predators were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Thursday night with a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of the Winnipeg Jets in Game 7 of the teams’ Western Conference semifinal series. And with the loss, the sun may also be setting on the NHL career of Mike Fisher.

The longtime Predators star actually came out of retirement in January, so the reasonable assumption would be that Fisher, 37, will likely hang up his skates for good after giving his NHL career one last hurrah.

That notion was not lost on Fisher’s wife, country-music sensation and Predators superfan Carrie Underwood, who on Friday morning posted video of her husband shaving off his playoff beard with the help of son Isaiah. Underwood also joked about how Fisher is wise to handle such grooming issues on his own “now that he’s out of a job.”

In other Carrie Underwood-NHL news, the singing superstar has switched allegiances now that her hubby’s squad is out, throwing her support behind the upstart Vegas Golden Knights.

Not only that, Underwood, no slouch in the national anthem department, having done it countless times, including ahead of  Predators games, has offered her singing services to the Golden Knights as well. Underwood also makes note of how the Preds enjoyed success whenever she sang the anthem.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the Golden Knights are intrigued by Underwood’s offer.

The expansion Golden Knights will continue their historic run through the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a showdown with the Jets in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals at MTS Center. Game 3 marks the Golden Knights’ first home game in the series Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena. We’ll have to wait and see if Underwood makes an appearance.
