LeBron James breaks postseason social media blackout for great reason
LeBron James typically goes into shutdown mode when it comes to social media dispatches during the postseason as a means to better focus on the task at hand. The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar has been doing the social media blackout bit for years and this postseason is no different.
However, James earlier this week strayed from the practice. And the reason he did so merits much praise.
While James’ social media message was not technically a personal one, it was for a great cause. James shared via Instagram story a video from an enterprising and inspirational young girl named Kheris Rogers, whose organization “Flexin’ My Complexion” was formed to “encourage others to be confident in their skin,” per its Facebook page.

The organization, which touts a passionate anti-bullying platform, also has a website where themed apparel can be purchased.
For James to use his reach to the millions who follow him on social media to promote Rogers’ works and message certainly justifies him breaking his postseason social media silence.
And it’s gestures like these that have made James among the finalists for the NBA Cares Community Assist Award.
