The Vegas Golden Knights are in the postseason in their inaugural NHL season and a casino paid tribute to goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury with a life-sized chocolate sculpture.
Ahead of Game 1 of the Golden Knights’ first-round showdown against the Los Angeles Kings in front of their hometown fans at T-Mobile Arena, the Bellagio Las Vegas unveiled a five-foot tall, 90-pound likeness of Marc-Andre Fleury in the hotel’s Patisserie.

The impressive piece of confectionery art required the work of two executive chefs and five weeks of labor to be completed, per a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.

90 pounds of chocolate assembled over a base of Rice Krispie Treats, Styrofoam and wires were needed to create the life-sized. Fondant was used as well on the sculpture’s exterior, including on the stitching of No. 29s on the jersey. The chocolate Fleury sculpture was completed shortly after the Golden Knights punched their playoff ticket late last month.
The 33-year-old Fleury has been a stable backstop for the Golden Knights this season, posting a 29-13-4 record to go along with a 2.24 GAA and .927 SV% in 46 appearances.
