Kirk Cousins already working out with Vikings teammates (pic)

Kirk Cousins is already working at building chemistry with his new Minnesota Vikings teammates, as evidenced by a photograph showing the quarterback surrounded by a few of them at a recent workout.

A pic evidently from an Instagram story posted by Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs, features himself, Cousins and fellow wideout Adam Thielen along with running back Mack Brown.

Cousins appears to be making good on a comment made during his introductory press conference about an eagerness to get to work familiarizing himself with his new teammates and becoming part of the Vikings’ culture.

“When you take a look at the offense, I could go on and I’d probably leave someone out if I named them all,” Cousins said. “Again, it’s a testament to the leadership of this organization with the way they’ve drafted, the way they’ve handled free agency, the way they’ve structured things. Those rosters don’t happen by accident.

“I’m very fortunate to be walking into this locker room. Not just the talent, but the people and the men. That’s what’s really important to me. Because ultimately, you win with people. I’m excited about that opportunity and just can’t wait to get to work and get to know these guys and assimilate into an already really strong culture. Just see how and where I fit, do all I can to help win football games.”

Cousins arrives to a Vikings team coming off a 13-3 season and an appearance in the NFC Championship Game. With that in mind — not to mention Cousins received a fully-guaranteed, three-year, $84 million deal — the expectations for the 29-year-old signal-caller are undoubtedly high, and it would seem he understands and accepts the pressure. And putting forth the effort to get to know his teammates certainly is a solid start to his time in Minnesota.
