Todd Gurley says it would be ‘awesome’ if Rams acquired Odell Beckham Jr.

It has been a tumultuous week for Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants? Could the Los Angeles Rams stand as potential benefactors to the chaos? If so, Rams running back Todd Gurley would be 100 percent in favor of it.

Amid what appears to be a growing rift between Beckham and the Giants — although there is substantial uncertainty as to the extent and what may come of it — the Rams have been bandied about as a possible destination for the wide receiver should the situation reach a point of no return.

And if the Rams could swoop in and snag one of the best, albeit enigmatic, wide receivers in the game? Gurley believes the Rams could easily make room for such a talent as Beckham.

“There’s always enough snaps,” Gurley, speaking hypothetically, said with a broad grin, via The Los Angeles Times. “There’s always enough snaps.

“If we had him, man, it would be awesome. I’d be happy, Goff will be happy, coach McVay will be happy, [owner Stan] Kroenke, the whole team would be.”

As noted, there has been no clear-cut answer whether or not the Giants would actually trade Beckham — comments from the owner to the general manager to the head coach are somewhat inconsistent, although there’s enough evidence that the Giants are growing weary of the wide receiver’s antics.

Beckham reportedly told “a couple” of Rams players that he “wants in.” If that’s the case, what would it take to bring him to L.A.? It sounds like the Giants would set a huge price to allow Beckham to leave New York. It will be interesting to see how this develops as the 2018 NFL Draft nears, especially given reports the Rams are legitimately interested.
