Reds to give out Bob Ross bobbleheads at April game (pic)
The Cincinnati Reds will conduct arguably the greatest — and perhaps the most unique — bobblehead giveaways in MLB history when the team pays tribute to iconic artist Bob Ross at an April 25 game at the Great American Ball Park against the Atlanta Braves.

Join the Reds to celebrate the late Bob Ross and his iconic “The Joy of Painting” show with this special package that includes an exclusive Bob Ross bobblehead plus your ticket to the April 25 game. This unique bobblehead shows the famed painter decked out in a Reds T-shirt!
There seems to be no link between Ross and the Reds — much less Ross and baseball — so it’s certainly an interesting giveaway, to say the least. But that does not take away from its inherent awesomeness.
Ross of course was the beloved and revered artist who mellowly captivated viewers on his long-running PBS series “Joy of Painting.” Ross’ penchant for painting “pretty little trees” and saying things such as, “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.”

Suffice to say, the delightfully permed painter charmed a generation, most of whom had little interest in painting, let alone the inclination to ever pick up a brush. Ross passed away at the age of 52 on July 4, 1995 after a battle with lymphoma.
