Report: Kirk Cousins ‘on a variation of the Tom Brady diet’
It’s all but certain that Kirk Cousins will ink a massive deal with the Minnesota Vikings sometime on Thursday. However, the Vikings organization had to audible out of their standard wine-and-dine game plan for free agents due to Cousins recently taking to a more restrictive diet touted by New England Patriots signal-caller Tom Brady.
The Vikings welcomed Cousins, his wife, Julie, and son, Cooper, at a Twin Cities airport Wednesday evening for the quarterback’s visit.

Cousins and his family were greeted by Vikings general manager Rick Spielman, co-owner Mark Wilf, coach Mike Zimmer, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo and quarterbacks coach Kevin Stefanski; along with wide receiver Adam Thielen and tight end Kyle Rudolph (who both brought along their wives). The party then embarked upon a trip to downtown Minneapolis restaurant Capital Grille for dinner.
What’s interesting is that the Vikings typically escort free agents to renowned Minneapolis steakhouse Manny’s. However, Cousins’ decision to emulate Brady’s restrictive diet prompted the Vikings to instead choose Capital Grille, which provided more appealing options given the situation.
According to @TomPelissero Kirk Cousins is “on a variation of the Tom Brady diet” so the Vikings are having to take him to a different location than their normal steakhouse spot for free agents.
Major red flag imo.

Despite the change in scenery, Spielman indicated everything is on track to get a deal wrapped up Thursday.
Rick Spielman to reporters outside Capital Grille on Cousins "I think it’s pretty hard not to get done right now… His agent is flying in (Thursday) morning We'll handle the business 1st thing in the morning… Hopefully we'll have a press conference some time (Thurs) afternoon"

Cousins ascribing to Brady’s notoriously and well-documented, rigid dietary regimen — although the Pats quarterback does indulge himself from time to time — presumably can only pay dividends going forward. The question, however, is if Capital Grille offers avocado ice cream, Brady’s treat of choice, as a dessert option.
