JuJu Smith-Schuster shares ‘Madden’ video of LeBron James as a Steeler

LeBron James politely declined JuJu Smith-Schuster’s amusing efforts this week to recruit him to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But that has not stopped Smith-Schuster from having some fun with the bit.

The Steelers wideout on Thursday shared a “Madden” video featuring clips of James suiting up with the Steelers at receiver. Suffice to say, the video game footage portrays James as quite the dominant force on the gridiron, to no surprise.

Smith-Schuster’s entertaining recruiting campaign started earlier this week with some social media dispatches, including on Twitter.

And Smith-Schuster was not done with his online campaign to lure James to the Steelers, however ludicrous the notion. The pitch continued with the Steelers wideout saying in part the following in a YouTube video.

“LeBron is all about championships. There’s no better place to come than Pittsburgh where we’re all about championships.”

“LeBron, you’re the most heady guy in sports history because you want to the Heat. Pretty much all your fans will hate you if you go to the Warriors, if you go to the Lakers, The best place to come to, the most loyal fans are the Pittsburgh Steelers, so why not come over here? You’re gonna get a lot of respect if you make the transition from the NBA to the NFL — a different sport. People will respect you more because you’re gonna prove them wrong and win a championship.”

As noted James was flattered by Smith-Schuster’s efforts, but plans on sticking solely with basketball.

“Naw, I’m fine with my sport that I’ve got,” James told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “It’s pretty funny, though. I saw some of the (headlines) that they had me in a Steelers uniform. I like tank tops and shorts. I’ve tried the shoulder pads and it was fun while it lasted. But I’m a tank top and shorts guy.”
