NBA world congratulates LeBron James for reaching 30,000-point milestone

LeBron James on Tuesday night, at the age of 33 years and 24 days, became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 30,000 career points. James hit the mark late in the first quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 114-102 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Fittingly, some of the biggest and brightest names from the NBA world congratulated him on reaching such a significant personal milestone. Among them? NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

“Congratulations to LeBron on reaching 30,000 points — yet another milestone in an extraordinary career that continues to inspire,” Silver said in a statement.

Two members of the 30K fraternity, Kobe Bryant — whom James surpassed to become the youngest player ever to hit that point plateau — and Dirk Nowitzki.

The two NBA icons offered their congratulatory messages via Twitter.

Other luminaries from the league weighed in on the feat as well.

FOX Sports Ohio compiled a video in which other NBA names gave King James his well-earned shout out, including former teammate Richard Jefferson and longtime pal Chris Paul.

James of course got the congratulatory ball rolling earlier Tuesday when he submitted a social media dispatch in which he weighed in on what was to come later that night.
