First-grade class sends Jags adorable ‘game plan’ on how to beat Pats (pic)
A Jaguars-loving first-grade class in Jacksonville, Fla., are doing their part to help their favorite NFL team pull off a monumental upset of the New England Patriots in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. How? By sending the Jaguars an adorable folder in which a game plan is provided.
Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone arrived at his Thursday press conference armed with said folder, which was prepared by the youngsters from The Bolles School’s first-grade class. In it were notes and messages and other items of encouragement.
The cover of the game plan featured the message, “Dear Jags, Want to beat the Patriots? Here’s how …….. Advice from your #1 fans in Bolles First Grade.”

“I’ve got to get through this,” Marrone said, via ESPN. “This is from the Bolles first grade and this has the answers that maybe I’m looking for, maybe how we can stop the Patriots.”
The Jaguars without question face what many perceive as an insurmountable task in upsetting the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. After all, the Jaguars are 0-7 in Foxborough.
But the same things were being said ahead of last weekend’s divisional-round shocker in which the Jags dispatched the Steelers in a 45-42 shootout on the latter’s home turf. Marrone jokingly hinted that perhaps the secret to solving the Patriots’ puzzle could be found in the first-graders’ folder of tricks and tips.
“We’re just taking as much advice as we can because we need it,” Marrone said.
