Vikings surprise longtime fan with playoff tickets for 100th birthday gift (vid)
The Minnesota Vikings have rewarded 99-year-old Millie Wall for her decades-long loyalty to the team by giving her tickets to Sunday’s NFC divisional round showdown with the New Orleans Saints at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Wall will celebrate her 100th birthday later this year and has been a Vikings fan since their inaugural season in 1961. While she’s been to a handful of games over the years, she’s yet to take in a game in the postseason. That all changes come Sunday, as the Vikings surprised Wall with an early birthday gift earlier this week.
The Vikings posted video of Wall reading a letter from the team informing her of the tickets.

“You’ve gotta be kidding,” Millie said, her voice cracking over the surprise, via Vikings.com.
Wall’s routine for Vikings games starts with her sipping on a Screwdriver. She also has a foam brick she throws at the television when things aren’t going the Vikings’ way, one that she retrieves with an attached string.
Wall’s granddaughter, Ashely Wall, filmed the moment when Millie learned the big news. She described how much of a thrill attending the postseason game will be for her grandmother, saying, “This really is a dream come true for her to attend her first playoff game.”
Ashley will join her grandmother at Sunday’s game.
“I’ve been thinking about it,” Ashley said. “Obviously this is a very exciting season for the Vikings, and I was just thinking, ‘Should I be watching the game on the field, or should I be watching my grandma’s reaction to that game?’
“I think it’s going to just be a really great experience,” Ashley continued. “We’re so excited as a family to watch her and watch everything come to life.”
