LeBron James, Dwyane Wade hit social media to celebrate Isaiah Thomas’ return

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade both took to social media to celebrate the imminent return of Isaiah Thomas, who will at long last make his highly anticipated debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

First, James gave Thomas a shout-out on Instagram.

And Wade later celebrated Thomas’ return on Twitter.

Thomas later responded to Wade’s tweet with one of his own.

Wade also took to Instagram to showcase how he, James and Thomas celebrated New Year’s together.

Thomas joined the Canton Charge — the Cavaliers’ G-League team — last week and participated in a scrimmage. He also participated in a 5-on-0 drills with the Cavaliers during last Wednesday’s shootaround before taking part in a 5-on-5 drills during a Friday practice on the West Coast.

The news that Thomas will make his season debut against the Blazers means he will sit out a showdown with his former team, the Boston Celtics, on Wednesday, as the Cavs intend to ease Thomas back in slowly by not playing him in back-to-back games. While that would have made for a remarkable scene at TD Garden, odds are the Cavs — headed by James and Wade — are nevertheless thrilled to have Thomas in the fold in any capacity heading into the new year.
