Carson Wentz tweets response to critics of hunting photo

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz took to Twitter to issue a response to critics who took offense to a tweeted photo of his dog from a hunting trip.

The tweet, which featured two photos of Mama Henley, his Golden Retriever — one as a puppy and another of her sitting behind a lineup of shot geese — was posted on New Year’s Day to celebrate the canine’s birthday.

While most of the reactions on Twitter were generally positive in nature, some of Wentz’s followers took offense to the photo documenting his successful hunting excursion.

Wentz, an avid outdoorsman and man of faith, defended hunting and his religion in a tweet posted later on New Year’s Day

Wentz has never been shy about expressing his religious views, so it’s no surprise for him to do so again in his tweeted rebuttal to critics of his hunting photograph.

“You’re always walking that fine line, without a doubt,” Wentz previously stated about expressing his faith. “I always tell people, for example, ‘If you love your job, you love your wife, you love what you do, you’re going to talk about it. Well, I love Jesus.’ That’s what I love, so I’m going to talk about it. But I’m not going to force it down your throat either.”

In the grand scheme of things, the situation hardly rises to a controversial level. Wentz, however, made it clear he sees no problem with tweeting about the things he’s “passionate about” and isn’t planning on changing his social media habits anytime soon.
