Robert Kraft weighs in on Diddy’s interest in buying Panthers (vid)
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft revealed he’s a “big fan” of Sean “Diddy” Combs amid news of the music mogul expressing interest in buying the Carolina Panthers.
A TMZ camera crew caught up to Kraft, who was out and about in Beverly Hills with girlfriend Ricki Noel Lander, earlier this week and asked him about Diddy becoming an NFL owner.
“He’s a good businessman. He’s a very good businessman,” Kraft told TMZ Sports. “And I have a lot of respect for Diddy.”
Panthers owner Jerry Richardson has announced he will put up his controlling stake in the team amid allegations of serious workplace misconduct. Diddy immediately suggested he would be an excellent candidate for ownership.
There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.

Interestingly, Diddy’s tweets inspired a reaction from Colin Kaepernick. Currently unable to land a job playing in the NFL, the quarterback expressed interest in joining Diddy’s potential ownership group.

Diddy’s apparent legitimate interest in owner the Panthers notwithstanding, all indications are that his dream of owning the Panthers may not be in the cards. Kraft’s admiration for him aside, it’s believed Diddy would be unable to come up the funds needed to purchase the Panthers given the exorbitant price tag that comes with any NFL franchise.
