NBC Sports Chicago graphic spoofs Bobby Portis-Nikola Mirotic brawl (pic)
NBC Sports Chicago used a graphic to poke fun over how Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic led the Chicago Bulls to a surprising 108-85 victory over the Boston Celtics on Monday night in light of their ugly practice brawl back in October.
Mirotic suffered facial fractures and a concussion in a fight during an Oct. 17 practice with Portis. The violent skirmish resulted in Portis being suspended by the Bulls and Mirotic not playing in a regular-season game until last week.
It would appear the two have somehow moved past the ugly incident with Mirotic saying earlier this month that he and Portis are “in a good way” and that he has accepted his teammate’s apology.
Still, it would seem from the outside that it may prove difficult for the two to coexist in light of the events. And yet, that doesn’t appear to be the case, with Mirotic and Portis both scoring season highs — 24 and 23 points, respectively — in Monday’s victory.
That brings us to NBC Sports Chicago, who took to Twitter to highlight the following graphic in which the duo’s stat lines are highlighted. But it’s the title of said graphic that merits highlighting.

A 1-2 Punch? That’s … awkward. That cannot be a mere coincidence, right? Somebody knew exactly what they were doing with that one.
