Anthony Davis fined $25K by NBA for actions after first career ejection
New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for his conduct following an ejection during Wednesday’s 120-102 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Davis was called for two technical fouls during the second quarter for arguing with officials. It marked his first career ejection.

Davis was assessed the fine “for verbally abusing a game official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection,” per a statement issued from Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
As noted in the above tweet, DeMarcus Cousins, who knows a thing or two about technical fouls and ejections, strangely was the calm and collected one during the incident.
Cousins, however, was not happy about Davis’ ejection after the loss.
“It’s a joke, man. It’s a complete joke,” Cousins said, via the The Times-Picayune. “I don’t have to speak on it, you saw it. … Everybody here knows A.D. and there’s got to be some type of legit reason for him to act out.”

“What I don’t understand is players are punished for playing off of emotions and showing their emotions in the game,” Cousins added. “It’s OK to coach off emotions, it’s OK to judge a game off emotions and it’s bogus.”
The official Twitter account of NBA officials chronicled comments from NBA crew chief Ken Mauer in which he explained hte reasons behind Davis’ ejection.
