LaVar Ball set up ‘Big Baller Brand pop up shop’ in Shanghai (pic)
When it comes to the Big Baller Brand and LaVar Ball, time is money and the show must always go on. At least that’s what can be inferred by the elder Ball posting a photograph of a “Big Baller Brand pop up shop” in Shanghai as his son LiAngelo is ensnared in some pretty serious and pressing legal entanglements.

Ball, a UCLA Bruins freshman basketball player, along with two teammates, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, were arrested and interviewed by authorities in China earlier this week after being accused of shoplifting sunglasses at a Louis Vitton store near the team’s hotel. UCLA is scheduled to face Georgia Tech Friday in Shanghai. Ball and his two teammates will not play in the game.
It was reported Thursday that the expectation is Ball, Riley and Hill are likely to face 20 days of house arrest as punishment for the alleged shoplifting incident. While that’s no laughing matter, it could have been much more severe, as the three basketball players were staring down between three and 10 years in prison for the alleged crime.
With that in mind, perhaps it’s understandable that the elder Ball, with the knowledge that his son’s ordeal will likely come to an acceptable resolution, chose to take a “Business as Usual” approach to the Big Baller Brand. Although some may argue that it doesn’t make for the best look, either.
