Eagles fan ups ante with ‘SUPER BOWL CHAMPS 2018 – 2020’ tattoo (pic)
A passionate Philadelphia Eagles backer upped the ante in the annual rite of overconfident NFL fans getting tattoos to prognosticate an impending Super Bowl triumph by having “SUPER BOWL CHAMPS 2018 – 2020” inked into his thigh.
The Eagles are flying high with an NFL-best 8-1 record while being led by Carson Wentz, the new darling among NFL quarterbacks. The Eagles are indeed among the current crop of favorites to play in Super Bowl LII. But as noted, this particular fan is looking well beyond Feb. 4, 2018 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis as it relates to the Eagles’ upcoming championship glory.

The tattoo has yet to be verified nor has the fan been identified, but there’s a decent enough chance the tattoo is legit considering past history in such tattoo-based bravado.
After all, let’s not forget the case of a Dallas Cowboys fan who last year got a “Super Bowl LI Champions” tattoo. He ended up receiving death threats on social media over his foray into championship-predicting ink.
Should the fan with the above Eagles tattoo suffer such a fate, perhaps he should seek safety and solace with another Eagles backer who evidently is of a like mind.

Nope, no chance for leeway with that tattoo. Perhaps he should have stole a page from a boastful-but-cautious Chicago Cubs fan who hedged his bets a few years back with his World Series ink. With the Cubbies winning it all last fall, he got let off the hook, as did this fellow Cubs backer.
That said, predictive tattoos boasting of future championship glory of course rarely ends up with a happy ending. Just ask this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy, as their respective boastful tattoo predictions didn’t pan out for them.
After all, rarely does it happen that folks who get title tattoos make out like this Seahawks fan.
