An emotional scene played out in the Buffalo Bills’ locker room following Sunday’s 34-14 victory over the Oakland Raiders when Logan Thomas was presented with the game ball.
Smith and wife Brandie this week lost their infant daughter Brooklynn Rose, who was born on Monday night. Smith revealed later in the week that she had passed away.

Brooklyn Rose wasn’t due until April, born dangerously premature at 20 weeks, approximately one-half of a typical gestation period. Thomas missed practice on Thursday but somehow was able to return to the team Friday.

“I just want to say thank you to everybody from the top to the bottom who have had my back this week,” Thomas said, via the NYUp.com. “We really appreciate it and we feel y’all’s love. Family on three.”
Bills defensive end Ryan Davis addressed how the team rallied around the grieving tight end and his wife and four sons.
“You really want to kind of go out there and put your best foot forward for them,” defensive end Ryan Davis said. “Logan Thomas, he was in our prayers all week. Him and his family. For us to go out there and get this win, not only for us but for him, his family and to give him the game ball and stuff like that, that’s what we do it for. We play for one another.”
Thoughts go out to Thomas and his family at this extremely difficult time.
