Yankees troll Indians, doubters after rallying to improbable ALDS victory

The New York Yankees were all too eager to troll pretty much anyone who doubted them after an improbable rally from a 2-0 series deficit to overcome the Cleveland Indians in the ALDS.

The Yankees punched their ticket to the ALCS with a 5-2 victory Wednesday night over the Indians at Progressive Field.

And once it was all said and done, the social media arm of the Bronx Bombers unleashed a few posts to rub the collective noses of all the doubters and haters, not to mention a dig at their vanquished opponent.

The Yankees then moved over to Instagram, where the team trolled the Indians over how they blew a 2-0 series lead.

Final: Yankees 5, The Team That Blew A 2-0 Series Lead 2.

“Final: Yankees 5, The Team That Blew A 2-0 Series Lead 2,” the Instagram barb read.

That of course is some pretty harsh stuff coming out of the Yankees at the Indians’ expense. But to give credit where credit is due, the Yankees did attempt to make up for the troll-job by lauding the Indians in a few tweets later Wednesday evening.

The Yankees, in a response to a tweet from the Indians about their postseason run coming to an end, congratulated Cleveland on their remarkable season.

The Yankees’ tweets probably won’t provide much solace to the Indians in light of a stunning elimination, but it was a nice gesture from the ALCS-bound squad nevertheless.

New York moves on to face the Houston Astros, with Game 1 coming Friday at Minute Maid Park.
